“Cleanliness Testing per the New IPC Standard”
Abstract:
IPC J-STD-001H is now active. Beginning with an amendment to revision "G", major changes were made to post-reflow cleanliness testing requirements. Gone are the old cleanliness pass/fail limits. IPC now requires cleanliness testing based on an objective evidence standard and process monitoring based on ionic contamination testing. This presentation will review the requirements of the new standard including step-by-step guidance using hypothetical examples based on IPC'S WP-019 whitepaper.
Presentation #2:
Leo Lambert
Vice President / Technical Director – EPTAC Corp.
Significant changes from Rev F to J-STD-001H Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies and IPC-A-610H Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies
Abstract:
The program will review and present the significant changes from Rev F to J-STD-001H Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies and IPC-A-610H Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies. Many of the changes in the 001 and 610 document were the elimination of the “Target Condition”, which has been in the document since the initial introduction of the document in 1983. New definitions were also added, as were the usage of Heat Shrinkable Soldering Devices, new components, new conformal coating material and new illustrations.
