Success in precision cleaning for electronics assemblers requires a robust approach to the removal of upstream process aids and continuous process control. Typically, manufacturing operations have quality checks to monitor presence of ionic species responsible for electrochemical migration, however, process checks that provide insight into conformal coating performance are lacking. Additionally, surface treatment options that have previously been considered dangerous to electrical integrity of a board will be discussed.
The panelists will discuss their different perspectives about surface characterization, cleaning and treatment options for application in conformal coating.
